Describe the contents clearly
List the item, quantity and condition. Disclose batteries, liquids, fragile components or other handling needs so the traveller can assess suitability and applicable restrictions.
Measure after packing
Record the complete weight in kg and dimensions in cm. Count every separate package. A traveller needs the packed size, not only the size of the object inside.
Protect neighbouring belongings
Secure loose parts, protect edges and use suitable packaging. An item carried beside someone’s personal belongings must not leak, scratch or shift unexpectedly.
Prepare the recipient too
Confirm the receiving person, meeting point and availability. Packaging solves only one part of the journey; a parcel still needs a compatible route and both handoffs.
